Introduction

I’ll post my bio on a related page, but by way of introduction I am a software engineer who has been involved in Java since prior to its initial release. By training, I am a computer engineer. This means that I have an engineering perspective and have an excuse for not being able to spell. :) I have grown up in this industry with the advent of open source software, with the development of Java ( and the VM craze ), and have seen the spectrum of development processes. I have written JVMs, contributed to public software (in the early years to Linux), and written many commercial apps. I have expertise (or at least I claim I do) on the backend and the frontend. I plan to use this space to share my perspective on java, technology, politics, and sports. I hope that my thoughts will encourage others to use that grey matter between their ears. Certainly, I have no problem expressing my opinion and I hope that those who read this will have no problem expressing theirs. I believe that there is nothing that can help improve the world more than healthy, open debate (ok, bill gates money in my pocket would go a long way, too). With that said, this blog will be less about reporting facts than it will be editorials on current issues.
