Self-Tuning Compiler
What if we could use AI and machine learning techniques to do all that work? This idea was explored by a group of EU research organizations. The result is MILEPOST GCC 4.4.0, the first machine learning enabled, self-tuning compiler that can adapt to any architecture using an iterative feedback-directed process.

To those that know me, I do know that I am beating a dead horse. However, wouldn’t it be interesting if you could create a self tuning compiler that would optimize code for the architecture AND for the current runtime characteristics of the machine? Hmmm, seems like I have heard of that somewhere before.
